Trust in the Midst of Trial

After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.
Job 3:1

It is even in the midst of depression that Job trusted in God and believed. Job mistakenly felt he was the object of God's anger when he was in fact a special blessing to God.

In all the troubles that the enemy can send my way, it should not effect my trusting in God. There are several reasons that trials come and in all of them, God has a plan and purpose.

I again, trust you in this time God, and pray that I continue to do so. I pray I do not fall away as Peter did and that I'll continue to praise You and give honor where it's due no matter what dangers I face. No matter what attacks are coming at me, I trust Your ways are mightier than my finite mind can comprehend. Please cover my family and help me to bless You! In Jesus name! Amen.

Fearing God

So Satan answered the Lord and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing?"
Job 1:9

God is sovereign and is the interceder and permitter of things that may or may not come into our lives. We must continue to reverence God in all things - in trouble and in good.

I trust you in this time God. No matter what attacks are coming at me, I trust Your ways are mightier than my finite mind can comprehend. Please cover my family and help me to bless You! In Jesus name! Amen.

Obedience to God

10-16-07

But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: "We ought to obey God rather than men."
Acts 5:29

We all reserve the right to say no to things that we consider oppressive or immoral.

Through wisdom and the power of the Holy Spirit, I must obey the government in accordance to the Word of God.

Father, please give me wisdom and power to discern appropriately in Your Will. I am obedient to whatever you'd have me do. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Separate to bring Unity

10-15-07

So it was, when they had heard the Law, that they separated all the mixed multitude from Israel.
Nehemiah 13:3

Because of mixed teachings of other religions with the pure Word f God, His people were getting into a lot of trouble. By doing so they were polluting God's Word. Therefore they went back to the Book of Moses and decided to separate themselves from these other people and ideas; going back to the basics and gleaning from God's Word.

I don't want to believe something simply because those I trust and love are; I must learn in the Word - continually bringing it back to His pure and flawless Book.

Lord, in the words of Nehemiah, "Remember me, O my God, for good!" Send Your blessing and goodness into my life. Help me to complete the work under Your direction and bless me! Fulfill my life and the life of my family with joy, happiness and good things. I know you can be trusted in all times... so I surrender to Your Way once again! In Jesus' name. Amen.

A Fruitful Word

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
Psalm 1:2-3

We are to find a quiet place to read and focus on God's Word, to concentrate and think on what God is saying, and to quietly repeat the scriptures while utterly abandoning outside distractions.

My focus must remain on the flawless Word of God. I must do by faith what God says and seek Him alone. When I do... God will.

Lord, may my life be a tree that bursts with fruit and doesn't wither. Bless us in the way You would have us go and help us to be fruitful. In the authority of Jesus' name. Amen.

Covenant of Commitment

10-13-07

Now the rest of the people... all those who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands to the Law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughter, everyone who had knowledge and understanding... these joined with their brethren... and entered into a curse and an oath to walk in God's Law... and to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our Lord, and His ordinances and His statutes...
Nehemiah 10:28-29

Areas needed change and so God's people entered into a covenant with Him. They had to choose not to be distracted by the things of the world. They entered into an oath to stay and walk in God's Law and if they disobeyed the Word of God, they knew the consequence would be a curse; and if they obeyed it, it would bring blessing. It is comparable to Adam and Eve and the Garden - if they disobeyed they would be cast out of it.

I enter into this covenant. I am to separate myself from the world and adhere my life to the Law; to God's Word. Doing all in my knowledge and understanding and the guidance of the Holy Spirit to do good works alongside the faith He's given me. We must continue to bless the church and teach the dynamic principles of God's word to our children.

Lord, thank You for continuing to talk to me. It is so crucial to the commitment you've called me to. I pray I would continue to turn to You and lean on You... and keep my end of the covenant. Bless me and keep me, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Be Called; Understand; Do

So they read distinctly from the book, in the Law of God; and they gave the sense, and helped them to understand the reading.
Nehemiah 8:8

In the Old Testament, understanding was needed for the spiritual revival to occur; in the New Testament, spiritual revival is needed for the understanding to occur. The New Covenant brings mercy on God's people; a love for those who long for undertanding.

I must continue to allow the Word to explode with meaning in my heart and obey the call.

Lord, I am determined to do what You would have me do. Help me to move; do Your will. It is not enough to know the Call and understand it - but to also do it. That is the fulfillment of the commitment. Thank You Jesus, for fulfilling your commitment to us; may I be in Your likeness. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Petty Distractions

10-11-07

...when [they] heard I had rebuilt the wall, and that there were no breaks left in it (though at that time I had not [finished it completely], [they] sent to me,s aying, "Come, let us meet together... but they thought to do me harm. So I sent messengers to them, saying "I am doing a great work, so that I canot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?" But they [pursued] four times, and I answered in the same manner.
Nehemiah 6:1-4

Satan tries to involve us in arguments, strife, and problems as a way to shift our focus from God's purposes. If he succeeds, he also succeeds at keeping us from finishing what God has called us to do.

"I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go [to a place that will derail what must be accomplished]?"

Lord, again, please continue to humble my prideful heart. I don't want to be caught up in pride nor confuse a curse for a blessing. You know just what needs to be done in these circumstances so please help me be sure of what I must do. Help me; comfort me; be the one I turn to in my moments of loneliness. Continue to bring my family closer together, and give me strength to follow the call. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Armor AGainst the Enemy

Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
Nehemiah 4 (v.14)

In the will of God, the enemy will come against us with discouragement and mockery in attempt to defeat us and our commitment to accomplishing God's will. We should always put on our spiritual armor - stand and fight, build and do not be afraid, wear the armor and carry the weapon while building (Eph 6:11-18). Pray continually and God will send supernatural strength to overcome the enemy attempts to discourage and pressure. With God we can be victorious.

Lord, I meditate on Your Word; I remember Your grace and mercy, provision and protection. I ask for You to continue guiding this family down Your path of righteousness. May no discouragement of the enemy distract the journey. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Restoring the Home

Then I arose in the night... I told no one what my God had put in my heart to do at [home].
Nehemiah 2:11-20

Pray, prepare, and plan. When these three are accomplished confidence in action occurs.

When I rely on God, He'll give me the necessary information. After the cost is considered and facts gathered the next steps are outlined. When buiding begins attacks will come because when in God's Will, I become a threat.

Father God, may I be humble, trusting, and teachable. May I serve my family as Jesus served us; laying down His life. I know the cost, I know what is necessary; help me to organize what I need to accomplish Your purpose on my life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Triumphs and Confidence

Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, nor with things too profound for me.
Psalm 131 (v.1)

Coming to a place of humbleness, the psalmist learns to be quiet and concern themself with the matters of the Lord.

I'm so out of my comfort zone, I know I must continue to allow God to transform my heart.

Lord, continue to humble my prideful heart. Help me be sure of what I hope for and certain of what I don't see. Help me; comfort me; be the one I turn to in my moments of loneliness. Continue to bring my family closer together, and give me strength to follow the call. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Spiritual House Cleaning

So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."
Luke 18:22

Whether you have much or have little, if there are things you can't let go of, then those things are what you worship.

I must do some spiritual house cleaning. I must eliminate the items of "just in case"; I must let go of the past; I must start afresh and follow Jesus.

Lord, bless me. Cover me with Your love and wisdom. Again and as always, I cannot do this; I cannot stand without You. Be with me in this time. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Above Rubies

For the queen's behavior will become known to all women, so that they will despise their husbands in their eyes, when they report [what happened].
Esther 1:10-19 (v. 17)

Just an example f the worldly woman who participated in the feminist movement for generations to come; bringing excessive contempt and wrath.

I must have care in the relationships I'm in; it is eaasy to sway by the influence of the world if not grounded well in the spirit.

Lord, continue to help me build my home. See my efforts. I know there is still plenty to do so, Lord, help me to honor my husband, to call him Lord as Sarah did Abraham. Lord help me to be appealing in all areas as Esther was. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Under Construction

We are the servants of God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel build and completed.
Ezra 5:11

After a call of God came, the popel of God set out to rebuild His temple.

God built this house once before - but in my provacation He handed me over to my adversary and the house was destroyed and we were taken for a time. But today is a new day and God will not allow the discouragement of the enemy to block His work from being accomplished.

Lord, I know the warfare is apparent and due to following after your will. Help me to remain focused and under Your influences. Guide me in who I can trust and learn from. I do not want to rely on myself nor the wrong leaders, Father, so I trust You to lead me where I must be. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Home Sweet Home

He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within you.... He makes peace and fills with the finest wheat.
Psalm 147:10-14

God is the one who strengthens the structure... no matter who builds it, he will make it secure. He blesses all the work that is invested - not an ounce is done in vain. All the labor will be blessed with peace and prosperity and abundant provision.

The work I do is valuable to God. It is seen as a loving act toward Him. When I act out my love for Him, He can see that I appreciate all that He does for this family. He's asking me: be my friend? (John 15:14)

It is clear Lord, what will bless You and my family. Thank You, again for being so real with me. I love being able to hear from You and talk to You. I know the calling You have on my life and I see the value You have in it. I see the price You paid for me to be in this call. Thank You for being so patient and kind and gentle. You are my everything. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Naked; Unashamed

after he has laid the foundation, and is not ableto finish, all who see it begin to mock him.

The mocker can be anyone, including ourselves. We must be determined and sure of the cost.

It is truly all I have to commit myself to this call on my life. This is the call, this is the cost - am I willing?

Lord God - I AM WILLING! May I not labor in vain! The building plan is Yours; I am just the builder. Be the guard. May I rise in Your time and lay down in Your time. May I take joy over my husband and children; unashamed and open to all I speak with in regards. I shall not fear any of my enemies. Thank You! Lord, what a beautiful and blessed promise. I ask all of this in Your precious name! Amen.

Starting with the First Step

"It is like a mustard seed, which man grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its' branches."
Luke 13:18-19 (v. 19)

Taking that first step of faith is crucial to the process of developing into becoming beneficial to anyone else in need. God's timing is perfect.

Yet another step in my journey of faith. There's certainly surprises, obstacles, and blessings along the way - and no matter what, God is guiding me and He knows exactly where His is taking me.

Lord God, I thank You for Your continual presence and provision. Please continue to be clear in Your instructions for me. Continue to be that person I can turn to. It's getting harder Lord, but I am reminded that You are not a confusing God so help me to see clearly. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Light on the Olive Trees

"'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,'" says the Lord of hosts.
Zechariah 4:6

It is not by our strength alone that we accomplish His will, but by God's.

I must continue to rely on and expect God's power for miracles to flow. My life and that of my family depends on it.

Lord, God, eliminate the distractions from my life. Help me to know what to do and how to go about it it so as to glorify You all along the way. Help me to stay confident and firm. I must remain in te Word. I must rely solely on You. You will not lead me astray from the righteous path. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Replace the Dirty with the Clean

"...and the last state of that man is worse than the first."
Luke 11:24-26 (v. 26b)

One must not only remove the sin but replace it with godly character, behavior, prayer, devotions, and all the other godly attributes He would have us place before ourselves and our flesh.

I must replace the items that have been removed with something that brings me closer to and blesses God.

Lord, You warned me, it's here. Take this discouragement and replace it with praise, honor and blessing to You. Replace it with confidence. Take care of my physical body and all its minor and major ailments and other conditions. Heal my body and bless it. In Jesus' name, remain by my side. Amen.

Invitation of Obedience

"I am with you, says the Lord."
Haggai 1:12-15 (v. 13b)

When we are obedient to the call on our lives we sign the covenant and God is faithful in His presence.

I must remember the conditions God has laid before me: stay in My Word; pray; listen; obey; trust; and have faith.

Lord, I still have areas in my life that are alive with disobedience. As I step out in complete obedience, may You develop that as You do faith. Thank You Jesus! In Your holy name. Amen.

Remain Faithful

Then the people of the land tried to discourage the people of Judah. They troubled them in building.
Ezra 4 (spec. verse 4)

These enemies stirred discouragement in the building. They went to great lengths to frustrate them from doing God's works.

The enemy is going to try and come in and discourage the building that was promised to us (refer to devs. 5/30 - 6/06). He is going to try but it is up to me to not allow him.

Lord, I pray 1 John 2:20 over myself, Father God! Through You, Holy Spirit, give me the knowledge and discernment to see the sheep as the wolf it truly is. Thank You God! In Jesus precious name. Amen.

Power of God

But He said to them, "Where is your faith?"
Luke 8:25a

Jesus wanted His disciples to trust Him completely, even during rough and unpredictable times.

Confirmation to our decision to leave all in God's hands. It's an unpopular view - but God will calm the storms to come.

Thank You Lord, for this blessing of freedom that comes when we let go of all and hold onto You! Bless us; reward us with Your joys! Calm the storms and stay with me. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Trust and Patience

I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly.
Psalm 85:8

We must wait for the word from the Lord. He speaks with our best interest in mind -ultimately the peace He's promised to the Saints (God's people; those who should be devoted to and faithful to God). Let us not return to our past sins that we've been given power over in the name of Jesus so as to not provoke God's displeasure. Avoid wicked practices.

I must pray, listen for, and wait. God is not a confusing God and will not bring me down the way of destruction. In Him I will not fail and in Him the enemy will.

Lord. Reveal Your way to me. I can't do this in my own mind or my own strength. I'm waiting and listening. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Trouble Brings Triumph

Blessed are you poor... who hunger now... who weep when men hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and cast out your name as evil for the Son of Man's sake. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven...; When the flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
Luke 6:20-23; 46-49 (v. 49)

The adversity in one's life is a testament to the work of God in their life. If the person is not struck down by it, the foundation is sturdy and strong.

I must remember to look at adversity as an opportunity to grow and learn. It is through adversity that complacency is shaken and the stregth of the foundation is determined.

Lord, thank You for this reminder. It is not the trouble but the lesson. Keep talking to me Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Brought Out

Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring an everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.
Daniel 9:24

All to be fulfilled by the Messiah will occur in "70 weeks." Symbolic to the perfect amount of time needed to make an end to the sins! Restoration and reconciliation occurs at the end of sins.

May 8, 2005 - January 13, 2007 according to the Jewish calandar (which eliminates July and August) is the 70 weeks in my life that brought an end to sins and brought the prayer for completeness (perfection) and surrender to His will.

Wow. Father, You know all things. Thank You for bringing me on this journey to perfection - no matter how hard it gets, I pray I'd remain in Your embrace - looking neither left or right, but straight at You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Perfect Timing

Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned fromt he Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.
Luke 4:1

It is clear that we need the filling of the Holy Spirit before taking on the wilderness - which is crucial to our growth.

It is the Holy Spirit that will get me through the times ahead of me. The end results are the value of how the journey starts. I must remain humble and patient.

Father God, You have big things planned for my family. Continue to keep me moving at Your pace; at Your speed. I know that if I go ahead of Your plan, than I'm only going to regret it. Thank You for bringing John 7:6 to my remembrance - for You the right time has not yet come. I will follow Your timeline and not my own. In Jesus' name. Amen.

**He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time. Daniel 7:25**

Lord, keep us out of his hands - bring things back to it's order and time. In Jesus' name! Amen.

Laboring for a Purpose

"Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.
Daniel 6:16b

Stand firm; let nothing move us; always give selves fully to the work of God -- because our labor is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58)

I must trust that all the work I'm doing will accomplish what God has planned -- my labor is not in vain.

Thank You, Lord, for this gentle and loving reminder. I must keep on -- no matter what the adversity. Please stay with me and help me stand firm! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Growing Up God's Way

Then he [Jesus] went down to Nazareth with them [his parents] and was obedient to them... And he grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men.
Luke 2:51a & 52

Jesus was obedient and grew in all wisdom, stature and favor with God.

It is during these years in my children's lives that these things are formed. I am placed in their lives to help them to grow in them.

Again, Lord, thank You for staying by me and talking me through every step. Thank You that You've always been perfect and the perfect example. Lavish Your goodness on this family; help us to grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with You and with men. In Jesus' name. Amen.

From Mouths of Babes

Mary learned from her child in the midst of training.

This is "out of the mouth of babes," Jesus style. I want to remember to listen to my children - and cherish lessons learned in my heart.

Lord, I pray for your continual guidance during this crucial time in my life. It is not just about how I'll raise my children to live for you but the growing and maturing of myself while under Your training. Just as I expect obedience from my children, so also must I expect that of myself for You. Help me to be the woman You've designed me to be and to fulfill the calling to its fullest, and thank you. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Prepare the Heart

So the child grew and became strong in the spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel.
Luke 1:80

Yet another important example of Jesus to implement into our lives; our children can be led to do the great works that Jesus did and greater (John 14:12). We are to portray Jesus and in this we give our children the foundation they need to live a life wholly devoted to God.

As a child, Jesus, in time grew to become strong in the Spirit; prepared for all the days in the desert. I must prepare my children, help them to grow and become strong in the Spirit to be ready for what God has prepared for them.

Lord, I pray for your continual guidance during this crucial time in my children's lives. It is not just about how they'll go about this world with the people they'll meet or how productive they'll be according to the standards of the world, but it is also how they'll live for you. Help me to be the mother You've designed me to be and to fulfill the calling to its fullest. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Come Soon

He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus!
Revelation 22:20

Tender words, to remind us that though there is much in His Word we need to attend to, we are not to let His hope be overshadowed because He is coming soon!

I say, with John, "Even so, come Lord Jesus!"

Lord God, I thank You for your wonderful love. Seeing these words, I can almost hear you saying "Don't worry hun, it is just for a short time, then I'll be there!" Thank you! Have compassion on your children and those who are separated from their families due to work, war, and other uncontrollable situations - afterall you understand what that is like more than any of us. Thank You for Your amazing love! In Jesus name. Amen.

Fear + Faith = Family

Live Righteously

One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.
Psalm 145:4

We must pass on to the younger generation what our relationship with God means to us.

It is my responsibility to pass on the great miracles of God to my children. I must provide spiritual substance so that their faith may be built up.

My prayer, Lord, is to speak only of righteous things and in a righteous manner. You are worthy of all things and complete surrender on my part is the least that I can do for all that You are, have been and will be and do. Thank you for being the greatest things in my life -- and for helping me fall in love with my family like never before. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God is in Control

"I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it," says the Lord.'"
Ezekiel 37:14

God doesn't confuse us. Wait for His timing and all else will fall into place.

I know what God is asking of me so I just need to wait for His perfect timing.

God, prepare and soften hearts. Give me strength and confidence in this time where adverse opinions are around every corner. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Mama & Daddy

'But if the watchman sees the sword coming and doesn not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity... at the watchman's hand.'
Ezekiel 33:6

We have a responsibility for the hearts of those placed under our care and authority.

I am the watchman of my home and family -- I am/will be held accountable for the heart and soul of my children.

Lord God, continue bringing to my remembrance, the the tools you've given me to fulfill this important role in my life. Help me to see and to protect in what You would have me. In Jesus' blessed name. Amen.

Peer Pressure

"O king, have not paid due regard to you. They do not serve you or worship the gold image which you have set up."
Daniel 3:12

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego refuse to bow to the threats of the king but stood firm in following after the one true God.

No matter what pressures come, I must continue to rely on the purpose set before me to guide my decisions. The Holy Spirit will not lead me astray nor confuse me. No matter what anyone says -- follow and worship God alone.

Father, continue to show me Your ways. I long only to bless You and fulfill the call You have on my life. Your will be done. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Whispered Secrets

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.

“I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of You, for You have made known to us the king’s demand.”
Daniel 2:20-23

A prayer we should always be praying.

Filling me with praise, God truly follows through on His end. He has power and might and is wise beyond our understanding. I want might, wisdom, knowledge and understanding - I long for our relationship to be deeper, I just want more of Him.

Praise Your mighty and holy name. You hold us in Your hands and care for all of us who love You. I pray for intimacy - Lord reveal the deep secrets to me, let me be close to You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Look Within Yourself

Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the Lord; let us lift our hearts and hands to God in heaven.
Lamentations 3:40-41

When we face trouble we must ask ourselves these questions: What's the cause? Is it circumstantial? An attack of the enemy? Due to my ignorance? Or sins of my own heart? It is wise (and necessary!). In doing so we may find things that aren't right in us. If we listen and change these things we can find healing, restoration, and deliverance.

I continue to search within myself to correct what God would have me do. I'll praise and worship Him in all circumstances.

Lord God - I PRAISE YOU! You've done so much in my life there is no way I can imagine who I'd be if You hadn't come into my life. All that is lost doesn't compare to all that's been found nor will it ever. Thank You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Blessed and Favored

... 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and thier works follow them."
Revelation 14:13b

"Blessed" is being much more than "happy," and describes a favorable circumstance God has put one in.

No matter what seemingly troubled times come - it is dying in Christ that sets us free.

Lord, may I seek the iron You command to sharpen my character. The beatitudes give a clear idea of what blesses You, and in return blesses me. Help me to be that blessing for You!! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Follow Through

If you will still remain in this land, then I will build you and not pull you down, and I will plant you and not pluck you up. ... Do not be afraid... do not be afraid. ...for I am with you, to save you and deliver you... and I will show you mercy, that [they] may have mercy on you and cause you to return to your own land.

Follow His plan no matter what the opposition. It's better to experience trouble while you are in the will of God than to be out of the will of God and face disaster.

I must stand firm in the call and push past the fear. I need to PRAY!

Lord, establish this family and keep us strong. Help us to not be afraid of authority in our lives. It is You we choose to follow! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Should I stay, or Should I go now?

And now look, I free you this day from the chains that were on your hand. If it seems good to you to come with me... come, and I will look after you. But if it seems wrong for you to come with me... remain here... wherever it seems good and convenient for you to go, go there."

Freedom granted. One can be released from all forms of spiritual bondage through the power of the anointed one.

Today, my shackles have been broken. God is giving me a choice to stay or go according to convenience (according to what is suitable or agreeable tot he purpose at hand). What choice should I make?

Lord, give me the wisdom to know what is the greater choice to make. Lord, help me. This is tough but I know you'll guide me. In Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen.

Special Olive Trees

These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth.
Revelation 11:4

When two or three go out in His name power is there - God (the fire) is all we need to take down our enemy. We must keep the Word and put it on our hearts and minds.

My children are the olive plants of our home; the witnesses who know their father's business. They give light to the reality of our family - just as we, God's children, do for Him.

Again, Lord, the prime example of life - is in Your Word. You are great. Help us to be blessings to these precious blessings You've given us - let us do Your will and may they portray Your love for all Your children. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Love "The One" - Love All

"'"And they shall dwell safely there, build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they will dwell securely, when I execute judgments on all those around them who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God."'"

God will care for those whom He loves and those who love Him back. He is patient and waits for hearts to turn to Him.

I must continue to pray for all around me. God's so much bigger than I can wrap my mind around.

Lord, I pray for all of Your children and those who do not know You yet. You have helped my heart soften and have kept me protected - thank You. Continue to bless me and to use these blessings to glorify You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Don't Judge by Its Cover

Revelation 9:20-21

No matter what appears we must continue to evangelize, pray, and intercede.

I cannot judge people from the outside. I am learning that more and more as I take these steps back that I've been called according to. I must pray the prayers of interceding even as we are called to cleave.

Lord, help me!! Help me to stand for what You've called me for. Help me to stand for what is right, what is good and what You are directing me towards. Stay by me and be with those around me. I don't want to be a stumbling block - I want to bless You. Help me. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Wisdom and Understanding

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.
Psalm 111

Fear is wisdom; following God gives understanding; and praises of God endures forever.

Fearing God, following His law, brings praise to my lips. I now do His great works because of my adoration, appreciation and respect for Him - because my initial fear has brought me to this place.

May I be sour in the sights of others but only if it's in order to be a blessing in Yours. Help me to live this life You've called me to live. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Humbly Exalted

"And all the trees of the field shall know that I, the Lord, have brought down the high tree and exalted the low tree, dried up the gree tree and made the dry tree flourish; I, the Lord, have spoken and have done it."
Ezekiel 17:24

God can take young twigs, tender and solitaire and plant it to become a majestic cedar. It will be the cover and comfort for many birds. The humble will be exalted.

It is not always the more experienced that God chooses to cover and comfort those in need, but also the vulnerable and tenderhearted caring for the weak. Compassion is crucial to be used in this respect.

Lord, use me. Make me the tender twig in which to bless with. Soften my heart and protect it, make it stronger and able to endure more so to use it for your glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God - Worthy of Love

Freedom, confidence, assurance, passion, trust, hope - in Christ. All are examples worthy of singing a new song for Him.

This new, personal, intimate relationship with God ahs brought for me new love, new joy, new faith, and new hopes for my present and future. I am so blessed!

Lord, in this present moment of peace, I know what to do.
You've come into my life, and when I least expected it, proven Yourself true.
You've given me a lot; much more than I can describe.
You've given me the greatest gift - one of which I could never buy.
A Guide, a Father, a Friend, it's true,

From Disaster to Comfort

"Yet behold, there hsall be left in it a remnant who will be brought out, both sons and daughters; surely they will come out to you, and you will see their ways and their doings. Then you will be comforted concernning the disaster that I have brought upon Jerusalem, all that I have brought upon it."
Ezekiel 14:22

After a disaster occurs, the survivor will be the comfort after the heartache.

Confirmation that I must do what I believe God would have me do in regards to my family. It will result in blessing even through the inevitable disaster to come.

Lord, keep me prepared for Your plan. Help me to know what You'd have me do in all that You lay before me. Bless me and my family as we continue on this journey with You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

The Power in Us

"that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.
Ezekiel 11:14-20

God has given us the inner power to be what He created us to be by giving us the Holy Spirit. With it we are freed from attempting to obey the external law of God. By the Spirit, the law of God has now become alive and a part of our hearts. God has put the power in us to become the brand-new person He created us as. We must remember companionship and relationship with the God who created us.

He truly has given power - power I can't even begin to understand - to change. I look over the last 6 month, year, 2 years, 5 years... and I see the Hand of God all through it. I see the inner power of God that kept me hopeful and moving forward, keeping me in confident expectation of what He promised. I see how He gave me a foundation of which all has been built upon. I see how He has helped me to learn to seek His lead and direction and to wait for His instruction. I see how He guided me when I was lost and also revealed things to me in the light when surely I otherwise would have walked blindly in the darkness. What power there is in the blood of Christ that it has washed over me and helps me do what God asks of me. How great is that!?

Wow... the journey we've been on, Lord, what a wonderful blessing it's been to be in your company. The intimate moments we've shared, the insight you've given, the love that you've shown... I have no desire for anything or anyone like I do for you. Continue to bless this walk I'm on, bless my family, bless my friends. Help me to be the blessing You would have me be. Give me guidance and precise instruction of what You would have me do. I trust You. In Jesus' blessed name. Amen.

Your Love

To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

When we overcome the adversity, we are given strength that only the pursuance of God can provide. This strength causes us to stand firm in His name.

It is my very hope and desire to be priveleged enough to be taken in by my Father and to sit with Him. All that may be lost is only a speck in comparison of what is gained.

God, You are so great. I can't wait to crawl into Your lap and curl up to You. Your comfort, Your protection - all the love I've experienced in life has been so very special but the thought of being in Your presence can be quite overwhelming. Thank You that You privelege us to cuddle up to you and sit in Your embrace. With all the love a mere me can give - I give it all to You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

A Working Miracle

‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
Jeremiah 33:3

For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6) When we ask for wisdom, knowledge and understanding, surely He gives.

I long for wisdom of my heart, knowledge of my mind, and openness to understanding.

I ask, Lord, that I might receive these very things. Not for my power - but for Your glory. I want to be the complete blessing to You that You deserve. I want to show You love through which You feel loved. You are my ever-present help, and so I ask, Lord, help me to do this for You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Worthy to be Praised

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
1 John 2:27

When we become children of God we become foreigners, no longer to Him, but to those who surround us.

I've really gotten to a place where I can no longer understand, or rationalize with certain thoughts and mindsets of the world. Just as we become strangers to those around us - they become strangers to us. The justification people are living in seems such a miserable state to be in but that truly doesn't make sense in my mind - drugs, abortion, greed, adultery and fornication; there is no more respect for ourselves, for each other and certainly not for God.

O, Lord. How difficult it must be to watch this lost generation and wait. I pray that Your heart would be seen. I've struggled with not being understood - I can only imagine the lack of understanding and ungodly expectations of the world and how that must cause Your heart to ache. I pray people would turn their eyes to You - for YOU. You are a worthy and amazing God - worthy to be praised AND adored. In Jesus' Holy name. Amen.

All We Need is You

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.
1 John 2:27

The Trinity is personal. He reveals, teaches, witnesses, intercedes, speaks, commands and testifies. We no longer need to depend solely on the priests or anointed leaders to experience this joy - but as we remain in His presence and in His Word, He will remain in us.

What a wonderful sufficiency God provides. He really wants us to rely on Him for anything. I am so glad that I can speak directly with Him now and know His voice... and wait for it!

Father, You have truly been the greatest blessing in my life. I have taken several stray paths on this journey of mine, but You've remained faithful and I keep my hope in You. You are steadfast and true and I look forward to this walk with You, and ending at our final destination. Thank You for all that You are for us, Lord. May I be just at least a glimpse of that blessing to You in return. In Jesus' glorious name. Amen.

Failures & Insecurities

God's plan is to bring us to a humble position. He brings quiet people in our lives to make us realize how much we talk!

I could certainly be more humble... I've found myself become insecure and ashamed. I don't want to get comfortable but instead focus my eyes on Jesus.

Lord, forgive the pride of my heart. I know now that it is to hide my shame and loneliness. Help me to fulfill the calling You've placed on my life. Help me to follow through each time. In Jesus' holy name. Amen.

Reciprocated Love

Who would form a god or mold an image that profits him nothing.
Isaiah 44:10

We all have a longing for Christ in our lives taht God has put in us. This is why we can hold on so tight to certain things in our lives because we long for the reciprocated love that we are feeling for our idol, whether it is a person, item, money or what have you.

I've longed for the love that's always been there which is God. No wonder I've suffered rejection as badly as I have! God, I'm here.

Lord, I've turned my back on You - loving You way less than You deserve. Please forgive me for my ignorance - and receive me again. I love You so much! In Jesus' name. Amen!

Mercy Rain

God showed His mercy yet again with the new covenant.

God has shown me that all need mercy: myself, my kids, my husband; everyone!

A Reliable Example

He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Would be be just to acquit a proven rapist? If one helped a butterfly with his struggle in the cacoon be considered merciful? If a friend mocked you in your joys, would he be considered humble? No. Indeed not. The judge would be considered corrupt, the one with the butterfly, crippling, and the friend actually an enemy. God, on the contrary is loving, just, merciful, loyal, faithful, diligent, dependable, trustworthy, a friend and confidant - our ever-present ALL. God loves us by holding us accountable, helping us to truly become all that He has purposed for us.

God, You are so great! You deserve all the glory, honor, and praise. In Jesus' awesome name. Amen.

Jesus' Name

We all worship something or someone. It is whether we choose the God of all there is that determines our destination. Forever.

I can't be more happy to see God establishing in me a spirit of worship. He has removed the many idols in my life and for that I am thankful.

Lord, You are my God; my Father in whom I place my trust. I choose to walk in Your name for all eternity. In Jesus' name. Hallelujah. Amen!

Mercy & Favor

You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come.
Psalm 102:13

Zion, a term for Jerusalem, is where the temple was located. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us that our bodies are the "temple of the Holy Spirit." Therefore the time has come to receive God's mercy!

Help me to receive Your mercy but to stay focused on the goal. Keep me victorious, Lord! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Fear ≠ Faith

For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

We are not ruled by fear, anxiety, paranoia, depression, mood swings, or panic attacks. God, in fact, has given us power, love, and "sound minds" or ability (good judgment, disciplined thought patterns, ability to understand AND make right decisions, self-control, and self-discipline). With this scripture we know we can have PEACE, WISDOM, COMMON SENSE, ENERGY, CLEAR-THINKING, PRODUCTIVITY, and so much more!

With God, nothing is out of reach.

Hallelujah, Jesus! I have FAITH! I trust in Your Word and guidance. Keep changing me into Your image. Being close to You; there is no greater place to be! Thank You! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Righteousness

These are the qualities I desire to have; whether I'm in a leadership position or not.

Lord, thank You for Your constant teaching, training, and correcting. I truly desire to be a great and precious blessing to You. In Jesus name I ask You to continue to lead and guide my steps - keep me victorious over the enemy's snares! Amen!

Firm and Stable; Established

No matter what we're going through, believe that god can take care of the circumstance and trust in His Word and we'll come out of it, strong and blessed!

All the struggles I'm enduring will ultimately end in success and reward as long as I continue to trust in the Lord!

Heedful = Habitual

The Holy Spirit in us is powerful and accomplishes things in our lives; things that are subtle and hardly noticed and things that blow our minds.

My thoughts and desires do not limit God's ability to and passion in, completely changing my life.

Wow! What an awesome thing to be reminded of! No matter how doubtful, fearful, or plain ignorant I can be to the purpose You have for me, You continue to help me move towards it. Praise You, Lord, God! You are truly awesome! Thank You God! In Jesus name - continue to help me overcome my thoughts. Amen!!

Have no other gods

worship God; let every decision you make be to get closer to, to glorify, and to bless Him. We should put the effort (moreso) that we apply to our relationships with others with our Lord. The Commandments are "Have no other gods before me" then "Love your neighbor as yourself."

I must love God first; and then love people as I myself not as I love God. It is then that God will desire me!

Wow, Lord! You'll desire me? Help me to be desirable in Your sight, Lord. Make me beautiful as You see beauty. Help me in my labor that it may not be in vain. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Of Utmost Importance

The development of children, household is maintained, needs are met, always active in, trusted and praised; these are some characteristics of a virtuous woman.

I must get on track. My priorities are not in line. I have not been listening, yet convinced myself I knew.

Lord, I've messed up. I took things into my own hands and failed to let go, shake the dust off of my feet, love, and let you right the wrong. I allowed my emotions to yet again take over and left room for misjudgment. Lord, help me. I am desperate. I fear the consequence of my actions. Please use all to draw close and to help me be stronger in what is important for my family. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Built By the Best

Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
Proverbs 24:3-4

Wisdom is a sturdy foundation; understanding, the curb appeal and design; and knowledge is the fulfillment in Christ and all that he brings.

I must continue to rely and turn to the wisdom of Christ; seeking to first do, but also understand in order to establish His plan in my daily living. Through this my house will be full of knowledge; the wonderful blessings of the Lord.

Lord, You are so faithful. Thank You for Your amazing loyalty and constant care. You've helped me in all things and have proven yourself trustworthy. Help me lay a solid foundation and build to glorify You. In Jesus' name! Amen.

Covenant Condition

Compassion

Perfection

God wants to sanctify us; our bodies, minds, memories, thoughts, emotions, and spirits. To do so, He destroys Satans attempts of ensnaring us. He knows our hearts and intent and in the perfect time advances us toward His ultimate purpose of perfection. ~1 Kings 1:5; 1 Chronicles 28:9 and; Psalm 91.~

God is building me up; molding me; transforming me into the perfect creation He has designed me to be. All that comes my way (and all that doesn't because God intervenes to protect me) is to be followed with praise and thanksgiving.

Lord, thank You for Your continual communication. Thank You for helping me in time of need and for Your company when I'm alone. You are who I turn to in all things. Thank You for Your protection. Continue to bless me and my family - whatever it means in Your eyes. In Jesus name. Amen.

Constant Joy

God provides a joy that is not hindered by circumstance, no matter what it consists of.

I will shout in rejoicing, cheer in triumph, sing to Jesus. If my God is for me, who can be against me?

Shhh...

As shown here, sometimes being a leader is to refuse to defend himself. Jesus knew to defend himself would be to take it out of God's hand. We are to trust God with things we would naturally, most likely, do for ourselves.

I need to remain sensitive and vulnerable enough to defuse potentially explosive situations - even if it remains refusing to resist. Afterall, Jesus is our example - whoo better to follow?

Lord, help me to be sensitive to the Spirit. Lead me in being a good and strong leader. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Be Ready!

"And while they went to buy, the bride-groom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
Matthew 25:10

I don't want to be preparing and miss the mark. I want to be ready for Jesus.

Lord God, I struggle with procrastination and laziness on a rediculous level. I don't want to anymore. I want to be prepared and ready, and can'tbecause I'm constantly catching up. Give me weapons, Lord, to fight with in this battle. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Coming of the End

"And the gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."
Matthew 24:14

My calling is to preach the gospel; helping it spread - that is what God asks me to do toward the coming of the end.

With tv, radio, missionaries, with the opportunity to reach people live and at any time necessary (airwaves, satellite, transportation, phone, email, etc.)

Lord, help me to use these times to tell people about You. I need to look up and out - not in. Help me with this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Walk Along Thy Paths

We are to display the works of God, not just talk about them. We are to "walk the talk."

Am I really in that place again! I've become trapped in my sin, allowing anger to rear it's ugly head and separate me from God. I must begin to walk the talk again.

Heavenly Father, help me! I do love You, You are my everything. Yet why do I continuously fail to do Your will. I need Your help - out of desperation, desire, and passion! Help me to walk in Your ways. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Clothed in Righteousness

Matthew 22:1-14

We are invited, but must choose to receive the invitation and accept it. We must then be clothed in His righteousness only provided by believing in Christ and obeying the Will of God.

I had never fully understood this passage until now. What an amazing wisdom that God has. Jesus knew how to truly reveal to those who were ready to hear it - and still does.

Lord, Your message is so amazing. This parable that symbolizes Your passion and the reverence for Jesus and our uniting with Him shows yet another perspective to Your character. The more I get to know You, the more I love You. Help me to bless You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

A Time of Intimacy

Ignorant Bliss?

God wants us to do the same - to look at the heart of the person. To do this we need to learn to think God's thoughts, place high value on the things He values and despise the things He despises.

I must refuse to make judgments based on outward appearance. If I ask, God will reveal what lies beneath the surface - He will give His wisdom to me, then making me able to make wise judgments and decisions.

Praise You, Lord! Thank You! You truly cover those who have a heart after Yours. Transform me into Your likeness. Be glorified. Help me as I take this unknown journey before me. You will keep me safe as I trust. Thank You for removing my ignorance and giving me bliss! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Exam Time

It is when our faith rests on Jesus Christ that we accomplish the feat for maturity, accountability, integrity, and a thorough knowledge of the Word; we experience spiritual fruitfulness.

As I get closer to God, I must examine myself; using the admonishing of those around me to build me up in Him. There are no "lone rangers" in Christ.

Lord, I pray that I would continue to listen to Your voice - removing the ungdoly and replacing it with the righteous. I long to be like You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

The Greatest Strength

It is when we cannot do it and lean on god that He can e glorified - our greatest strength is His greatest weakness.

When I realize I can't do it on my own and trust God; giving Him the reins of my life that I see the works He can do and appreciate His greatness.

Spiritual Discernment

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transformed himself into an angel of light.

Some people will even appear as a Christian, proclaiming the name of Christ, but are working only to distort the truth. Others are simply in error. It is important not to falsely accuse a legitimate Christian ministry of being in error just becuase you don't agree with it ~ that is heresy and can be as dangerous as spiritual deception because it undermines the work of God and creates confusion.

Ultimately, we must know the Word of God for ourselves, so that when someone says something that doesn't line up with the Word of God, we can see what is false. We must also use Holy Spirit discernment, and not our own to determine whether it is in error or if the person is a false profit.

Lord, help me to discern as if my eyes were Yours. I do not want to falsely accuse, nor do I want spiritual guidance from a false prophet. Thank You for Your protection. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Constructive Authority

For even if I boast somewhat freely about the authority the Lord gave us for building you up rather than pulling you down, I will not be ashamed of it.
2 Corinthians 10:8

Paul's primary focus was constructive authority, for building up and not to destroy. We should prepare so as to make way for edification and avoid the need for severe action.

In the authority given to me, through the power of the Holy Spirit, I pray only to be constructive - using it to build up and edify as necessary. Only as God asks me to bring down, shall I do so. May I listen to the voice of God.

Lord, keep my feet on the right path. Keep me from straying to easier roads that lead nowhere. Help me to be constructive and do Your will. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Well-Endowed

A prayer we all should pray - to be given the character qualities to reflect our Lord for all to see and be saved.

I want nothing to be expressed except the characteristics of God - I want to have all inward righteousness; to be clean. I want to be a blessing to Him every day.

Lord, "endow [Your daughter] with Your justice... with Your righteousness." In Jesus' name I pray! Mold me, refine me; make me pure. Amen.

Know & Act!

We must respond to the present call for God to continue us onto the next. Obedience is necessary.

From Negative to Positive

Through our circumstances; as we pray, God takes the negative and makes it positive.

My God is not a "stingy" God. He has the poewr to turn around the worst of situations.

Lord, I pray that You would continue taking the negative in my life and making it positive. You know my heart's desire, and You know my needs. Bless me in a way I could never imagine. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Staying True

2 Corinthians 6:1-10

Through thick and thin we must stay true to God. As Paul, we are not to allow the success or difficulty of the ministry to get to us. Paul walked with Christ through whatever happened.

No circumstance - positive or negative - should be allowed effect my walk. Whether I make mistakes, people reject, or I never have to opportunity to see the result of my ministry, I must still continue on in the wisdom of God.

Father God, I thank You for finding me worthy in Your sight to complete the tasks that You set before me. I know it is purely through Your grace. Help me to fulfill Your will. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Walk By Faith

We cannot allow ourselves to be swayed by anyone who gives a report that contradicts what God says. We must never allow ourselves to accept distortions of the truth of God's Word.

My focus is in blessing God, only then can God use me as completely as He desires. Right now, as I depend on myself in certain areas of my life, I am left disabled, missing vital limbs and organs necessary for the full plan God has for my life. It is when I lean on Him that He restores areas and I can be used by my awesome Father and His awesome plan.

Perfection in Christ

The "feelings" approach to decision making will lead to self-destruction. This kind of life-style and heart attitude doesn't work.

I must not allow my feelings to direct me on my path of life, but I must allow only God's instruction to lead me.

Lord, I want nothing more than to experience all of You and to lean on You. Though at times I fail at this (most often because I take back the reins of my life) I know with You, perfection is made complete. I want to bless You Lord. Help me to do so. In Jesus' name. Amen.

All I have is Yours!

God provides inward power to live the Christian life by His Spirit. We must allow the Holy Spirit to live it through us - relying on God's power and not our own.

The idea of walking fully with God and sinless is an attainable feat through God as we allow ourselves to depend on Him and life completely for Him.

Lord, I lean on You as I take this challenge in faith. I know, as You've promised, that my step of faith will be blessed and You will carry me. Work through me Lord, God. All I have is Yours. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Don't Sell Out

God gives us supernatural gifts in order to use us for His glory - not our own. We must maintain them as such and remember when we accomplish things that it is by His power and not our own.

Too easily I can forget the focus and put it on me instead of God. I don't want to compromise my relationship with Him by talking about things He's shown me with those that don't benefit.

Lord, help me to do Your will. There really isn't any greater prayer I could pray. Bless me in my task at hand and in my walk with You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Glory

Bringing it back to God ALWAYS brings glory to His name.

Father

Although God had to discipline Israel for their own good, at a certain point He couldn't stand to see them suffer any longer.

What a softness God has about Him. I want to be like Him. I want to be everything He is.

Lord, to get this glimpse into the very heart of my Father gives me yet another reason that drives me to be like You. Help me to be like You. Help me to push on and walk in Your footsteps (even if mine only fill a small portion!) I just want to be all You want me to be; be all I am, for You. I'm tired of living for less. In Jesus' name. Enough

Just as a carpenter, mechanic, or a plumber; Christians need tools! Spiritual gifts are tools given by God with grace so that we may accomplish His purposes.

I want to experience God; I want to use the gifts He's given me and obtain the others so as to fulfill His plan for me. I choose to be active, assertive, caring, heedful, biased, believing, hopeful, optimistic, positive, and trusting.

Lord work in me to habitualize these emotions, actions, thinking, and passion inside me. May I walk fully in Your ways and shine brightly for Your Kingdom. In Jesus' precious name. Amen.

Living With Integrity

Just as Job prevailed through all that Satan brought against him for the Lord's name, so must we hold on to our integrity through all circumstances.

I will be blessed when I stand up for God's law and against all who oppose me for it. My faith in Christ is of more value than my name.

Lord, thank You for this promise. Please be with me during all that Satan has planned against me. I can do all things through You, who gives me strength. You are my everything. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Desire God's Best

We are to desire all of which God has to offer.

My desire is to experience God in a way life never before. Through self-disciplinary action I want to be as a blessing to God and for Him to use for others. May I not look to be praised but to have God praised.

Lord, help me not to become satisfied and complacent. Don't allow pride to come into me. Help me to love in Jesus' name. Amen.

Review the Covenant

And Joshua said to the people, "Behold, this stone shall be a witness to us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us. It shall therefore be a witness to you, lest you deny your God.
Joshua 24:27

We are to return to and review the covenant we made with the Lord. It contains the laws to be obeyed by God's people. Our blessing or curse is directly related to the covenant relationship with God, so it should be no mystery, as to why bad things begin to happen.

I must return to my consecration and overcome my fleshy desires in order to commit to the Lord wholly and follow through with my part of the agreement.

Lord, forgive me. My desire is to be fully in Your will but it can be hard with all the distractions. Help me to walk according to Your desires. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Seeds of Compromise

Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities, but the canaanites were determined to dwell in that land. And it happened, when the children of Isreal grew strong, that they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but did not utterly drive them out.
Joshua 17:12, 13

God had commanded the Israelites to "utterly destroy" the Canaanites. Instead, they compromised and used their captives as slave labor (16:10). Soon they began to develop relationships with these non-believers who practiced evil and did not serve God. The result: seeds of destruction were planted. Disobeying God may start out with very small compromises, but small compromises are the seeds of larger sins and eventual personal destruction.

I can't allow myself to lower my goal of God's standards and allow compromise to take place.

Jesus, stay close to me, let our love burn brightly. Help me to stay focused on Your standards. In Your precious name. Amen.

Peace and Passion

"all the inhabitants of the mountains... I will drive out from before the children of Israel... as an inheritance..."
Joshua 13:6

When God gives His people a promise for their lives or future, the promise must be possessed, or it will never be realized. In addition to hearing the promises of God, we must fight aggressively to possess them and not miss it due to unbelief or disobedience.

God is calling me to complete devotion - letting go of all things that have not been laid on my path except by Him. I must possess the promise but not without a fight and I mush not miss it due to unbelief or disobedience.

Lord God, thank You for Your promises and fulfillment of promise. I pray I would know Your will and walk in it. Take my anxiety for the fight and replace it with peace and passion. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Decision Making

Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions; but they did not ask counsel of the Lord.
Joshua 9:14

It is shown well in this passage how communication and dependence on God is vital in making right decisions.

Pray when it's time not when it's convenient. No matter what the circumstance - call on the Lord.

Lord I call on You this very day. Give me the answers I've been asking for ~ remind me to ask before taking action. Your support; Your will is all there is that is beneficial. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Triumph

"Get up, sanctify the people, and say, "Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel: "There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel: you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you."

God told Joshua to sanctify the people, because if he did not, they would be defeated by their enemies.

I need to devote myself wholly to the Lord in order to triumph over my enemies.

Okay, Lord, I want to make me completely Yours. Give me success over the enemy in Jesus' name. Amen.

Be Prepared

Joshua 3:5

God will release His power and wonders through people that are pure and holy. Sin always robs the people of God of supernatural power. Joshua told the people to "sanctify" themselves because God wants to "do wonders" among them.

I need to remove the sin from my life and devote myself wholly to the Lord. By seeting myself apart and rededicating to the Lord, I make myself ready for God to work wonders in my life.

Lord, help me to prepare the way. Do wonders in my life. Rain blessings and talk to me. I love You Lord! Amen!

Clearly Instructed

"...observe to do according to all that is written in [the Bible]... Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:8-9

It is by three things that make us successful in this life - continually reciting the Word of God, meditating on it day and night, and doing what it says. If we submit to Him and do these things we will be overcomers in life. Courage, boldness, and strength are ours because "the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Recite, meditate, do. Clear instructions for the believer.

Help me Lord to remember this! I commit to taking the steps You've set before me in order to live the life purposed for me. Be with me, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Apply Liberally to All Areas

1 Corinthians 1:3

If we are to grow spiritually, we need to grow in our knowledge of the Bible, allowing its teachings to move our hearts and spirits, as well as to fill our intellects. Then we need to apply it to our day to day living. These things are essential in order to separate ourselves from the hindrances of disobedience, lovelessness, competitiveness, and strife.

My current struggles is attributed to my lack of faithfulness in applying what I've already heard and cannot advance until I do! LET NO SIN RULE OVER ME!

Help me Lord! I am struggling with selfish thoughts, angry emotions, and tempted to react in hurtful actions. Help me! I call out to You and know You hear my cries! Thank You for Your guidance and presence. May my life be a delight to you. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Just Brilliant

And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be the wisom of men but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:4-5

Paul didn't try to convince people of Christ's message with brilliant logic. His message was logical, but it was given in the Power of the Holy Spirit and confirmed with signs and wonders. It was the Holy Spirit at work through Paul that made his ministry so effective.

My arguments are to be the basic message of Jesus Christ's being crucified in human weaknes; relying totally on the Power of God for His message to come through.

Lord, prepare the way; go before me. Give me the spirit of strength and give me the words to speak. Whether I ne hated or accepted, may Your message be Yours. I pray to only speak what You would have me and how You would have me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

It's Time; God's Time

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.
Psalm 40:1

David understood the importance of waiting on the Lord and praying to God for answers. The circumstances may not change immediately, but we can experience God's peace even when in the midst of difficulty.

I listened to the Lord's command on 2/22 and waited; He heard my cry! I must now prepare myself for more to come. God has plans and He's taking action behind the scenes; preparing hearts and training minds.

Praise the Lord. Thank You for Your constant communication. You are a God of timing. You prepare us and take care of us. Bless Your name! Continue to be with me; give me wisdom and strength only You can provide! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Culminate Spiritual Growth

c) Trouble and trials and discipline culminates in spiritual gain.

c) He's raising me in my spirit, completing me.

Give and Take

One's faith can dissipate in times of calamity - but Gods plan is for our faith to develop and strengthen because His hand is at work for the good of those who love Him. We are to praise God - even when we feel that there is nothing to praise about.

God wants me to trust Him, even as it seems everything has been pulled out from underneath me. He is helping me to be strong and developing my faith.

O Lord, as hard as my circumstance has been, You are there and I know that. Thank You, and I praise. It is easier with You, but so very hard. Stay with me... I need You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Wait...

God has great plans and we are to trust and endure, having faith that glory will shine and all will be accomplished.

I've seen too much not to trust that God is in my midst, not to see that God is working on His master plan. Everything that's happening is being used for His righteous results!

Hallelujah! I am so glad that all I need to do is wait and listen, then do. It is then that I can be confident and call on You, Lord! Thank You! You are so awesome. Thank You for Your constant care. The Vaccine

Jesus is the vaccine against Satan's poison, making him completely harmless.

In his efforts to defeat God's children, Satan is sneaky and secretly waiting to pounce from within the shadows. What he doesn't want me to know is that there is nothing he can do to harm me. I have the vaccine!

Lord, help me in my vulnerable times to turn to You, knowing that it is You alone that can save me. I have no fear against the enemy, he may think he has the upper hand but Your knowledge surpasses all we, YOUR CREATION, can understand or begin to retain. Thank You for Your provision. Love's Pursuit

b) Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life. Psalm 23:6
c) ...I urge you to keep your courage, because not one of you will be lost. Acts 27:21-6

a) God will do what it takes (and shows us how) to meet with His beloved.
b) Goodness and love (God) will follow (pursue) us all our lives, and we will dwell with Him.
c) God has promised that only the superficial will be destroyed, things are working for the good of those that love Him.

When I'm at my worst, it's always astared with a missed "meeting with God. It never fails to occur. I'm glad that He's brought me to a place where I can see it coming so I can run back to Him instead of slip further away. Had I initially listened to the Holy Spirit checks, I would not be experiencing my present circumstance, but I know I must hold on through the storm - God will bring us to new grounds, new circumstances, and new perspectives.

Thank You, Lord, for Your steadfastness. Continue to pursue me and teach me through my circumstance. I know You'll bring us safely through. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Who I'm Meant to Be

"'I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers and I will keep my covenant with you.'"
Leviticus 26:9

Blessings are the reward of obedience just as intense punishment is the consequence of sin.

I want to do a deeper study of God's commands and truly be what is pleasing to Him.

Lord, help me to be the child of God You've planned, prepared and purposed me to be! Do Your work in me! In Jesus' name. Amen.

You Are Good, O Lord

Vindicate me, O Lord...
Psalm 26

A request to clear, as from an accusation, suspicion or the like with supporting arguments or proof.

Again I am reminded to leave redress for the Lord. As Psalm 25:3 says, "No one whose hope is in [God] will ever be put to shame."

I cry out to You, Lord, for I've put my trust and very name in Your hands. Show me Your ways; teach me Your paths. Instruct this sinner, me, in Your glorious ways! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Good Fruit

He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his savior.
Psalm 24:4-5

Having right attitudes and motives, worshipping and putting trust in God, being honest and true; invites the promise of righteous treatment and favor from God.

I want to be God's favorite - to be so, I must do the things He loves: being all that He has commanded.

Lord, continue to help me in these things. May I only bear good fruits! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Holiness in God

Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the Lord who makes you holy.
Leviticus 20:7-8

Consecrate; do not become complacent; be holy. Holiness is to be expressed in every aspect of life.

I dedicate myself fully to Him; on this very day!

Lord, help me to remain determined and steer clear from self-assurance and security apart from what You provide! My life is in You, Lord! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Love isn't Blind

But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me.
Psalm 13

Though we do not understand the purpose and plans God has for any present circumstance, we are to trust what He's proven to us and praise Him for all His precious blessings and those to come.

I trust that God is working among us. Because of the history of God, I know that all things that happen are used by God to benefit His children. He has been and will continue to be good to me. That's been His promise.

Lord, thank You for Your constant character. You are unchanging and so worthy of trust. Be magnified through me Lord! Be blessed. And bless me! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Devotion

Before he sailed, he had his hair cut off at Cenchrea because of a vow he had taken.
Acts 18:18b

Paul had taken a temporary Nazrite vow; as expression of thanks for deliverance from dangers. Shaving the head signified the end of the vow.

I take a vow to consecrate my family role, for the glory of the Lord.

This, Lord, is not just a vow of personal self-discipline, but an act of total devotion to You. Be with me and lead me during this time of building order in Your will. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Messages of Truth

for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
Acts 17:11

Eager for the truth of God, the Bereans backed all they heard up with the Bible.

It is my obligation (and honor) to confirm everything with scripture. I am not to trust anything but the Word of God.

Lord, thank You for Your living Word and with Your great truth. Lord, help me to focus on my plank, and pray for everyone. In Jesus' precious name. Amen.

Open Heart Surgery

One of those listening was a woman named Lydia... a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message.
Acts 16:14

A believer of the true God and follower of moral teachings of scripture, Lydia's heart "was opened" in order to respond to the message Paul shared.

God's preparation is necessary to receive and respond to His Word. Again I must allow Him to go before me and do the work.

Lord, again You show me that Your timing is not only perfect but must be followed in order to be effective as a witness. Help me to devote all I do to running parallel to YOU. In Jesus' name. Amen.
